Before any project is initiated, the Foundation requires confirmation that both traditional and government leadership are aware of and supportive of the proposed work. Where both exist in the community, engagement with both is required.

This ensures that all parties are aligned and that the project begins with the full awareness and support of community governance — helping to avoid conflict and ensuring respectful, smooth implementation.

he Community Request Form covers seven areas of required information:

·        Community information — who you are and where you are located

·        Community need — which pillar your request relates to, the nature of the need, and how many people are affected

·        Proposed outcomes — what success looks like for your community

·        Current situation, including any conflicts — what has previously been done to address this need and what currently exists

·        Community commitment and involvement — who is committed to this project, what they offer, and at what level

·        Government support — awareness and support of traditional and government leadership within the community

·        Supporting documentation — materials that help the Foundation accurately assess the need

 Every submission is carefully reviewed and we will respond as soon as we are able. If your request is selected for further consideration, a member of the Foundation’s team will contact you directly to discuss next steps and determine whether there is mutual agreement to advance to Phase 2.

Purpose

This phase ensures that engagement begins by community invitation, with clear communication and a shared understanding of the identified need and the community’s commitment to address it together.
